Summer 2008 Workshops: "Broadway Bound!"

Broadway Bound! is an actor training program for youth who love to perform. The workshops uses performing arts skills such as creative movement/dance, music, drama and visual art to get the child’s creative engines roaring and advance their skills in the performing arts. This workshop serves as a great foundation for further training and is suitable for the beginner and the returning student. Broadway Bound! helps young performers develop their skills in imagination, creativity, vocabulary, teamwork and coordination. A selection of their work will performed on the last day of the workshop for family and friends.

Workshop Structure:

• Physical and Vocal Warmups: body and vocal awareness
• Theatre Games emphasizing: communicating with voice and body, stage presence, character development; auditioning skills; focus, discipline and teamwork
• Acting technique
• Play rehearsal
• One of the following: Visual Art Project; Stage Makeup; Stage Dialects; Cartoon Voices
• Break - (provide your own snack/water bottle recommended)
• Theatre and Dance Improvisation

Workshop Schedule

Class Presentations/Open House Showcase: Every Academy session will culminate in a lively presentation of class work during a special "open house-showcase" for family and friends on the final day of class & camp.
