Registration & Academy Policy

Class size
Preschool classes are limited to 8 students per class. K-12th grades are limited to 12 students per class.
Registration Procedure
- Reserve your space by contacting Get in the Act! Theater Arts Academy (775-284-8601, Diane Handzel, Director).
- Fill out Registration Form and return with tuition to Get in the Act within 7 days of phone reservation. All classes must
be paid in full within seven days of reservation - if payment is not received within this time period, your reservation will be cancelled.
Please note that Get in the Act Classes and Summer Camps enrollment is kept to a limited number of 12 students.
We recommend all students register immediately, as we expect full enrollment. Enrollment is based on a first come basis.
- Enrollment is based on receipt of tuition. Confirmation will be emailed to your email address upon receipt of tuition.
- Parents or Guardians must register their own children.
- We accept cash, check or money order for payment. Sorry, no credit cards.

Checks should be made out to "Get in the Act".
- We recommend all students register immediately, as we expect full enrollment due to small class sizes.
- There is a $15.00 fee for any returned check.
- Students will not be allowed to participate in classes, events, or performances without proper paperwork and
payment of all required fees, including an executed copy of these policies.
Class Cancellations
Get in the Act! reserves the right to cancel any class.
Refund Policy
There is a $20 administrative fee for all refunds. No refunds or tuition credits are given two weeks prior to the start of the class.
Tuition is not refundable, reduced, or pro-rated due to absences.
Make-up Classes and Wait Lists
We do maintain and enforce enrollment limits to ensure the best academy experience for each student. Therefore, there are no make-up
classes available. Students on the wait lists may be called for enrollment should a cancellation occur.
Student Class Placement
Get in the Act! reserves the right to place students based upon the performance ability rather than age.

Role of Get in the Act! Student
We hope you are excited to learn and be a part of the theatrical adventure. We strive to provide the best theater training we
can while being conscious of the development of each individual student - helping each student to take their next step an an actor
and as a person.
Attendance is Important
By registering for a class, both parents and student are committing to attend every class for the entire session. Actors who miss
a class prior to the performance will be allowed to participate in the showcase performance only in extraordinary circumstances and
at the discretion of the Director. Students are encourged to develop a commitment to the class and teamwork and this is accomplished
through regular class attendance and active participation in showcases. Please contact Diane at 775-588-8614 if you are unable to
attend class.
Student Dismissal from Academy
Students may be dismissed from the Academy for any reason including, without limitation, rude, disruptive or disrespectful behavior,
excessive tardiness and/or absences, and nonpayment of fees. Students may withdraw from the Academy at any time for any reason.
Sick Days
Please keep your child at home if they have experienced a fever or nauseousness within the last 24 hours.
What to Wear to Class
Please be prepared to wear comfortable clothing and shoes suitable for movement/dance, i.e. sweats or dancewear; no skirts/dresses.
Shoes should be tennis or dance shoes (ballet or jazz). No flip flops or shoes that can easily fall off.
- Costumes
- Most costumes will be provided however, each student should be prepared to wear all black, i.e. long sleeve black top or leotard,
pants, socks, and black shoes.
- Water Bottle
- Students are encouraged to bring water in a water bottle with a pop up top. Soft drinks, fruit drinks, frozen coffees etc. are not
allowed in the studio. Due to student allergies, please no food with peanuts in the studio.
Do your homework
If you are given lines to memorize, please memorize your lines at home, so we can use our class/rehearsal time putting those words into
action!
Drop Off
Students should arrive on time. Parents must walk their children to and from class. Classes start immediately at the scheduled times. Drop off students no earlier than 5 minutes prior to
start of class, parents should wait with their children. Please enter the classroom at your scheduled class time.
Pick Up
Please understand that our instructors have other teaching and family commitments after class is over for the day. Parents, please come
inside to pick up your child. No student will be allowed to wait outside the building.
Observing
Parents and friends are welcome to watch the last 10 minutes of class. Please enter the acting studio quietly and you are welcome to sit
in the audience.
No toys, food, computer games allowed in class.
